Common active detection systems use an emitter that generates signals such as infrared or ultrasonic signals, which are reflected back to a receiver. Intersan's detection system is passive: no signals are emitted. The system is waiting in a quiescent state until the sensor detects a human hand in its broad detection area.
Intersan utillizes optical lenses to delineate the expanded detection field of the passive systems in terms of width, lenght and height. The detection field is self-adjusting in that it adapts itself to the contours of the plumbing fixture. The result is a broad user-friendly detection area, ideal for use by people with disabilities as well. In addition, the precision design of the detection field prevents possible activation by passers-by.

  • Mini-Cycle
Water flows for a minimum of 5 seconds and for a maximum of 30 seconds. This specific cycle offers maximum water conservation.
  • Maxi-Cycle
Water flows for at least 8 seconds, and the valve remains open as long as the user is washing hands. This cycle offers maximum user convenience.
In order to avoid abuse, an interval of 2 seconds is programmed after each cycle, this prevents the excessive use of water.

Hands-free water and soap operation

Through the hands-free operation of water and soap, users no longer have to worry about the risk of infections and the spread of germs that may arise from contact with the fixtures.

Maximum water-savings

Electronic hands-free water supply systems are water-conserving in design and fonction.
Through precise micro-processor control, and through the use of accurate flow regulators, both the duration and the volume of the water flow are controlled. This offers maximum water-savings without sacrificing  user convenience.

To offer a consistent system for these widely diverging applications, the Sanispray® electronic washfountains come in three versions: Maxi-Spray, Mini-Spray and Hi-Traffic.

One Trade Installation: easy and economical

For rapid and flexible installation of supplies and drains, all Sanispray® washfountains can be equipped with stainless steel flexible supply lines, stop ball valves with integral strainers and a flexible drain. All electronic components are pre-assembled.
In the standard model, the lithium batteries serve as the only power source thus limiting installation to only the plubming contractor.

The washfountain uses a passive detection system with latching solenoid valves, this system uses considerable less energy than active detection systems. Throughout the years, experience in the field shows that a 10.8 V battery can power the washfountain and deliver enough energy for up to 384,000 water cycles

Operation
As soon as a user places his or her hands in the detection area of one of the individual sensors, the collective sprayring starts spraying water all around the washfountain. Once activated, the water flow continues until all users have left the washfountain.

Option: manual soap dispenser
Hi-Traffic can be ordered with a liquid or powdered soap dispenser on top of the sprayhead.

Characteristics
Minimal Water ConsumptionThe collective Washfountains have a water-saving sprayhead and a built-in automatic flow control regulator, resulting in considerable water conservation when compared to an equal number of individual faucets. The electronic flow control regulation system
Optimal User ConvenienceThe collective control system consists of a number of individual sensors with their own detection field, which are connected to one single solenoid valve and a central microprocessor control system. In this way, a large detection field, which are connecte
'Automatic' maintenanceThe collective sprayring flows until shortly after the last user has left the washfountain. As residues of soap and dirt are rinsed away continuously, the self-cleaning parabolic bowl maintains its hygienic appeal.
Maximum hygiene
Optimal barrier-free operationThe actual detection area almost covers the entire washfountain
Vandal-resistanceAll major electronic and mechanical components are concealed in the fixture to protect them from potential abuse
Standard Cleaning FunctionFor easy cleaning and drying of the washfountains, a cleaning function allows the washfountain to be put in a stand-by mode where the solenoid valve remains closed for a period of 2 minutes
Applications - The electronic washfountain HI-TRAFFIC is ideal for common collective washfountain applications, including but not limited to washrooms that are highly frequented by large groups of people simultaneously, in which case they offer the most economic and practical solution.

Water Supply

  • Optional flexible braided stainless steel supply lines make the connection of the water very easy and quick

Cast Iron 4-way trap

  • An optional unique pre-plumbed four-way P-Trap with 1 1/2" flexible drain connector facilitates the easy connection in one of four ways:
    - Trap to the floor
    - Straight Drain to Floor
    - Trap to the wall
    - Straight Drain to Wall

Single Trade Installation

  • All electronic components are pre-assembled in our factory. AC hook-ups are not required; the plumber only has to connect the battery.
  • The liquid soap dispensing system uses the Intersan 1 liter soap bags.
  • Intersan Sanispray washfountains can be furnished with stainless steel top supply shrouds and paper towel dispenser assemblies.

Hygienic and maintenance-friendlyThe Intersan Sanispray is a stainless steel (AISI 304) washfountain. The one piece deep-drawn stainless steel bowl is polished to a shining finish making it extremely appropriate for hygienic applications. The parabolic shape of the bowl combined with the
Durable and sturdy constructionThe Intersan washfountains are manufactured of strong and durable materials and are specifically designed for washrooms requiring sturdy and durable fixtures.
Maximal water conservationSanispray includes automatic flow control nozzles resulting in maximum water savings.
Easy InstallationThe washfountains only require a single plumbing connection versus multiple connections for individual lavatories. Intersan washfountains offer the advantage of being pre-plumbed. The electronic installation is limited to connecting the battery-pack, thus
Space savingWashfountains take up significantly less space than lavatories of equal capacity. They can handle large groups of people simultaneously and offer an efficient traffic pattern in large washrooms.
Vandal-resistantThe use of durable materials and the integration of all components in the washfountain make it vandal-resistant.
Barrier-freeSafe and accessible for wheelchair confined users. Foot control is not recommended for barrier-free.
High-Tech finishIntersan uses a unique high-tech polishing process that results in a durable easy to clean mirror-like surface.

The Sanispray contributes to meeting LEED requirements in the following categories:

  • WEp1 - Water Efficiency
  • WEc3 - Water Use Reduction
